Inauguration and blessing of Religious Statue at San Vincent de Paule
On Friday 7th July 1999 a new artistic statue representing the fallen Christ (ir-Redentur) was inaugurated and blessed during a religious ceremony that was held at the Ruzar Briffa complex in the same Vincent de Paule residential home.

The blessing of the statue was held during the celebration of Holy Mass consecrated by Father Krispin Tabone OFM Cap. Following the religious service, the religious statue toured the St Vincent de Paule residence in a religious procession accompanied by members of the Qrendi Scout Group, Roman soldiers from the “Kumitat Rapprezentative tal-Gimgha Mqaddsa ta’ Hal Luqa” together with biblical personalities from Hal Qormi dressed in costumes of the time.
Members of the Qrendi Scout Group also formed a guard of honour in front of the religious statue throughout this procession.

In a short address the Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry for Social Policy, Dr. Antoine Mifsud Bonnici praised such socio-religious initiatives, as it is such initiatives that keep alive the religious belief serving as a stimulant to raise the morale of the inmates at this residential home.
