Scouts Cyclcing (from Qrend to Zebbug)
Braving the wintry weather, six male scouts accompanied by Scout Leader Louis Sammut and three female “mechanics”, traveled by bicycle from the Qrendi Scout Headquarters to Siggiewi, Zebbug and returned home through an alternative route. With bicycles checked for breaks, steering, tyres etc, the team set off passing through the numerous country lanes that surround our neighboring villages, giving the cyclists the opportunity to admire the local environment and heritage

With a stop at the “Tal-Providenza” chapel saw the planning made up from the Group's lady team either discuss the team's progress or exchange pen friends letters between themselves with the utmost secrecy whilst the Public Relations team tried the best to make the event memorable. |

But “getting lost” was not part of the events program and unacceptable by the Qrendi Scout Standard, but physically losing “the actual road” is another thing!. Blaming the previous week's torrential rain was a fair excuse for Scout Leader Louis. All in all it was a great and most enjoyable outdoor event with most of the scouts pushing their limit, however the occasional scout did have to stop for a more than once refreshing drink. “Wonder what's in that bottle, Bjorn?” |
