Dar il-Providenza fund raising Marathon

Twenty young boy and girl scouts from the Qrendi Scout Group gave up their New Years mid-day lunches and celebrations to assist the “Radio tal-Knisja” radio station in collecting funds in favour of the Church’s Institution, Dar tal-Providenza. The Qrendi Scouts manned the incoming telephone calls from the general public wishing to pledge contributions in favour of this noble cause. Hard work that was most fruitful and enjoyable, which the scouts did from the heart.

The event, a regular event in the Qrendi Scout Group calendar, is one of the favorable activities that the group looks forward to. A time to do one’s duty to help others, whilst enjoying themselves at the same time.

Following a eight hour spell at the telephone stations, the scout group joined the variety show that was being organized simultaneously at the residential home itself.

Both activities were broadcasted on the radio and television stations. The group was later treated to refreshments, courtesy of the Radio Station. The Qrendi Scout Group wishes to thank the RTK Station Manager, Mr. Tonio Bonello and Ms Cynthia Zerafa for allowing the Qrendi Scouts to participate in this National event, where a record amount of money was pledged in favour of Dar il-Providenza.
