Improvised Rafting
Not having canoes and the lack of rivers in Malta did not stop the Qrendi Scouts from going rafting as experienced by numerous foreign scout Groups in their own countries.A high amount of rainfall this year saw the majority of the Maltese watercourses filled to their brims, forming the ideal location to practice winter water sports.
Armed with eight “sixty-five liter plastic” drums, two wooden pallets and eight improvised paddles, the scouts and ventures tried their hand in building their own improvised raft that was to see them crossing from one destination to the other, preferably without capsizing or getting wet.Nothing was left to chance despite shallow waters and a lift belt, first aid kit and an “Old Timer” Life guard were always at hand in case of emergencies.

Wet and muddy, all returned home happily in one piece and still alive.
A great activity, thanks to the group's leader Louis, Mary, Roderick, Warren and Pamela, that goes to show that no matter the obstacles the Qrendi Scouts get it right all the time, every time.
