The Urban Eats Indian-style roti paratha has been a ‘seasonal’ item in stores across Australia for years, but many shoppers have started raving about the ‘quick, easy and delicious’ product on social media.

Found in the frozen aisle, the flaky, layered flatbread comes in a pack of eight, which costs just 43 cents per roti.

‘As good as anything you might get in a good Malaysian restaurant, at about a sixth of the price,’ one wrote in a Facebook group.

Another shopper said: ‘These are the best things! My little secret. Aldi’s flavour and texture on these can’t be beaten by any other supermarket,’ while another person added the roti tastes exactly like an authentic restaurant.

Others described the flatbread as ‘the best roti ever’ and ‘simply amazing’.

Besides eating it as a side for curries, many revealed they use the flatbread in other meals such as desserts, pies and even pizzas.

‘I use the roti as a puff pastry and fill and bake them. Sooooo good,’ one wrote.

Another added: ‘Did the roti paratha tonight with Nutella, strawberries, blueberries and some cream and rolled it. Amazing.’

One person suggested: ‘Roll out between wax paper… use instead of pastry for savoury pies. Sublime,’ while another said: ‘They are a perfect pizza base.’
