
	It was the 25th February 1996, the day that I formally became the Qrendi Parish Priest, that I realized that the Qrendi Scout Group was not only an asset to our village but also to our Christian community. I remember vividly the warm salute that the scouts gave me on entering our church, with their Group Scout Leader shaking my hand and pledging his group’s support to me and the Qrendi community. In the years that followed we have worked hard, hand in hand, supporting each other.
Our Christian community is proud that part of its property is being utilized as the Qrendi Scout Headquarters, whom I am positive, have not only given life to these premises but treasure it as their own. Most importantly through their scouting activities the Qrendi Scouts have helped tremendously to bring extra life to our whole community. The supporting activities, which they organize are numerous and include participation in religious functions, environmental issues and Official Church Ceremonies, amongst others. On our part, the Qrendi Parish has strongly supported our scout group by attending to all their spiritual needs even during the various camping expeditions. A closer bond one could not have asked for. Being a Venture Scout Leader myself, I, as the Qrendi Parish Priest treasure this Group to whom our community is most grateful and wish to express our gratitude to its leaders and members for their constant assistance, high sense of duty, dedication and commitment, every time their services were required. May Almighty God protect and bless all at the Qrendi Scout Group together with their respective families and grant them many happy days of Scouting in the years to come. Fr. Ray.
