ARKANSAS SPORTSMAN: Substance follows style when sighting in rifles

“That’s a dead deer, but not dead enough.”

I said it Friday while sighting in a couple of muzzleloaders. “Trying” to sight in a couple of muzzleloaders is more apt. Despite multiple bullet, powder and primer combinations, I could not get either rifle to consistently put a bullet in a tight enough area to kill a whitetailed deer at 100 yards.

Meanwhile, a friend was experiencing the same problem with a pair of centerfire rifles. Veteran readers of this column might remember The Witness. In 2007, we scoured the Mississippi River bottoms in Phillips County for weeks trying to kill a black squirrel. There is no reason why The Witness’ rifles should have grouped so inconsistently. Every component is custom. One barrel costs more than both of my completed muzzleloaders combined.

One of my muzzleloaders is a .50-caliber Thompson/Center Omega Z5 with a custom laminated Boyd’s stock and a Nikon

And sadly, this investigation is only the tip of the iceberg. Dozens of former Kurn Hattin students have accused school staff and administrators of physical and sexual abuse, stretching back decades. According to documents associated with a pending lawsuit against Kurn Hattin, more than 60 children were allegedly assaulted by caregivers, administrators or peers at the school from the 1940s through 2019. Even worse, this

The Best TikTok-Famous Beauty Products | The Strategist

Photo: Retailers

Though TikTok is perhaps best known for producing viral dances and making Donald Trump mad, the app has quietly morphed into a next-generation QVC, unearthing useful doodads and oddball gadgets you didn’t know you needed. A product that goes viral on TikTok can sell out for months at a time, and the hashtag #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt has racked up 645.1 million views (and probably as many dollars in sales).

No products sell faster on TikTok than beauty products, whether it’s a DIY eyebrow lamination kit, men’s shaving powder, or a shower jelly that costs exactly $1. And because the app is dominated by teens, many of these things are easy on the wallet (or the allowance, as it were). To find out what lives up to the hype, we spent hours exchanging hundreds of DMs with TikTok influencers, asking just one

The North Port Police Department said 54-year-old Joey Kauffman was arrested this past weekend after a victim came forward and said he’d used a cell phone to take pictures of underneath her dress. According to an arrest report, she made Walmart management aware of what happened, and store leadership confronted Kauffman but did not immediately find any images of that victim on his phone.

Police say they later interviewed Kauffman at his home, where they say he agreed to sign a consent form allowing them to search the device.

“Our digital forensic team was able to extract multiple images involving more than a dozen unsuspecting adult females from Kauffman’s cell phone,” the police department said.

Investigators say they determined the incidents

Xbox Gift Guide 2020: Best Gifts For Xbox Series X/S And Xbox One Owners

Microsoft has a big holiday season ahead of itself, with new consoles, accessories, and games on the market. Big games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Yakuza: Like A Dragon are purported to show off the power of the next-gen Xbox Series X and S consoles, but with Microsoft’s commitment to backwards compatibility, all Xbox One games and a varied library of Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles are also playable on the Series X and S. On top of that, all Xbox One accessories will be compatible with both of the new Xbox consoles, making this console launch particularly exciting–you don’t have to buy a brand-new set of accessories for your loved one if they’re getting a new console.

Unfortunately, the Xbox Series X and Series S are currently sold out after preorders went live on September 22, but it’s possible some consoles will be restocked before the holidays. Microsoft
