The New York Jets are reportedly trying to trade disgruntled running back Le’Veon Bell.

This is no surprise, of course. Bell chose to go passive-aggressive with his criticism of coach Adam Gase after Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals, when he went on a “like” button spree of Tweets that were critical of coach Adam Gase and the way he was deploying the running back.

Bell is justified in his frustration. He has been a model leader for this team, through a difficult time. But he crossed a line by publicly criticizing his coach, putting his self-interest ahead of the team. And that can’t be good for the locker room dynamic, which is already fragile with the team at 0-5.

Holiday shopping gets early start with October Prime Day, other sales

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) — Halloween is still weeks away, but retailers are hoping you’ll start your holiday shopping now.

The big push is coming from Amazon, which is holding its annual Prime Day sales event Tuesday and Wednesday, kickstarting the holiday shopping season. It’s the first time Prime Day has been held in the fall, after the pandemic forced it to postpone from July.

Walmart, Best Buy and Target are also offering online deals over the same two days, hoping to lure deal seekers.

“Beat the holiday hustle,” Amazon’s site said on Tuesday. “Holiday savings start now,” a message on Target.com said.

There’s good reason for the early start. Retailers are worried that a rush of online orders later could lead to shipping delays in November and December. And stores want to avoid

‘the unofficial start’ of the holiday season

The timing of Amazon (AMZN) Prime Day this year marks “the unofficial official start to holiday shopping — which is pretty smart,” says Jessica Teich, Good Housekeeping’s products and reviews editor.

”This is definitely going to be the longest holiday shopping season we have seen,” Teich told Yahoo Finance’s The First Trade.

The sales event for Amazon shoppers typically happens in July. However due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was pushed out to October 13 and 14 — ^ weeks ahead of Black Friday.

“Is Prime Day the new Black Friday? One thing is for sure, that Prime Day is absolutely changing the way that we’re shopping,” she added.

Shopping in October rather than up against the holidays avoids massive clog-ups surrounding the shipping windows towards the end of year.

Other retailers like Walmart (WMT), Target (TGT), Best Buy (BBY) and Overstock (OSTK) are holding their own special deals this

As the New York Jets turn their eyes toward the future amid an 0-4 start, Le’Veon Bell is reportedly on the trade block.

Per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets are “shopping Bell with the hope of trading him sooner rather than later” leading up to the Nov. 3 trade deadline.

Albert Breer of The MMQB added the Jets have had contact with teams about Bell, and they could be “willing to settle for a late pick and/or back-end player in return.”

Bell’s tenure with the Jets has been fraught with tension seemingly from the time he signed with the organization in March 2019.

After Mike Maccagnan was fired as New York’s general manager in May 2019, Mehta reported head coach Adam Gase “absolutely did not want to sign” Bell and “made it clear that he didn’t want

For years, Amazon Prime Day’s nickname was “Black Friday in July.”

But after Prime Day and the competing sales end, be prepared for round after round of early sales through Thanksgiving and beyond.
