Alum Candice Walker added to Loyola women’s basketball staff; Tom Pierce named executive director of Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation

Candice Walker, a Loyola Maryland graduate who played in 117 games during her career with the Greyhounds, is returning to her alma mater as an assistant coach with the women’s basketball team.

A Baltimore native who prepped at Towson Catholic High School and was an All-Metro honoree by The Baltimore Sun in 2007, Walker has spent the last six seasons at the University of Massachusetts where she was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

Last year, Walker was a recipient of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s prestigious Thirty Under 30 Award, Marriott Bonvoy & Morgan Stanley Global Sports, an honor that recognizes up-and-coming coaches at all levels of women’s basketball.

Oakton alum creates virtual WW II fashion exhibit for alma mater

After graduating from Oakton, Noia, 27, now a fashion designer living in Chicago, went on to major in fashion design at Columbia College Chicago and continued his studies at Central Saint Martins in London.

Wendy Adele-Marie, professor of history at Oakton, recently asked her former student to help design a project for the College. The exhibition, “World War ChIIC,” debuts on Instagram on Oct. 19. The virtual exhibition captures the fashion imagery in Europe and the United States in the early to late 1940s.

Magic Mike alum Alex Pettyfer is officially off-the-market. The 30-year-old star shared the sweet and special news that he married German model Toni Garrn.

“Mr & Mrs Pettyfer,” the actor simply captioned his Instagram post on Sunday, Oct. 4. Moments later, the 28-year-old supermodel announced the exciting news on her feed. “Now you really get to call me wifey,” she cheekily wrote.

The two lovebirds uploaded romantic portraits of their big day, in which they shared a passionate kiss. Plus, the images revealed Toni’s effortlessly elegant bridal gown. For her wedding, the model skipped the traditional white dress and instead slipped into a gold lamé design that hugged her figure. Alex appeared to take the same approach and wore a dark brown tweed tuxedo.
