Daughter claims she ruined her dad’s surprise wedding after being the last to know about it

A Reddit user has admitted to ruining her dad’s “surprise” wedding after learning about the ceremony 30 minutes before it started.

The daughter, with the username throglo, posted about the moment on Reddit’s “Am I the A–h—” forum last week, explaining that her parents are divorced and do not get along — though they do have joint custody.

She explained that one day in January when her dad picked her up to spend a week with him, he told her they were going to drive an hour away to his friend’s house “for a surprise party.”

But once they arrived at an event hall, the Reddit user said her dad informed her that it was actually his wedding. He also told her that she was one of the bridesmaids and had to hurry inside so she could get ready, because the ceremony was set to start in 30 minutes.

Bride-to-be claims future mother-in-law, sister-in-law ruined wedding dress after taking turns trying it on

What a wedding dress mess.

A bride-to-be has taken to Reddit to vent about an alleged incident involving her soon-to-be mother-in-law and sister-in-law trying on her wedding dress without her consent, and ultimately ruining it.

According to the anonymous poster, who identified herself as an engaged 26-year-old, her fiancé’s mother had been very aggressive about the type of wedding dress she chose for the upcoming October wedding. At one point, her mother-in-law allegedly “demanded” the bride take her on shopping trips for the dress, but the Redditor writes that when she invited her mother-in-law to the appointment, she began “making excuses about how busy she was with my sister-in-law.”

GOP report claims Hunter Biden paid women linked to ‘prostitution or human trafficking ring’

Among the deluge of explosive claims tucked inside the new Senate Republican report about Hunter Biden’s business dealings is the allegation that the Democratic presidential nominee’s son has a history of paying Russian or Eastern European women linked to sex trafficking.

While the 87-page report, which was released on Wednesday, provided few specific details regarding the allegation, it pointed to a number of Russian- and Ukrainian-connected transactions.

“Hunter Biden paid nonresident women who were nationals of Russia or other Eastern European countries and who appear to be linked to an ‘Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring,’” read the report from the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Finance Committees.

The GOP report did not link Biden in any way to trafficking but suggested that he potentially paid prostitutes, presumably without knowledge, who may have stemmed from such rings.

Most “scientific” beauty product claims are bogus, study finds

We’ve all seen beauty claims in magazines that promise to give us “better skin in just two weeks” or to “dramatically reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”

But many women are not convinced. A new study found fewer than one out of five of such claims was considered truthful by a panel of readers — and ads that used scientific language to describe the benefits were even less persuasive.

Researchers at Valdosta State University in Georgia and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln analyzed 289 makeup, hair care, fragrance and skin care advertisements from April 2013 issues of seven fashion magazines including Vogue, Marie Claire and Glamour.

The claims were divided into categories such as scientific claims like “clinically proven” and endorsement claims like “dermatologists recommend.” Three female judges with varying levels of knowledge about the cosmetics industry sorted these claims into four categories: outright lie, omission, vague
