Women Are Twice As Likely To Experience “Every Form Of Bias”

A survey conducted by the Hollywood Commission on Eliminating Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality has found that women throughout the entertainment industry and across every demographic are faced with “every form” of bias and discrimination as they navigate their careers.

The commission, chaired by Anita Hill, released its survey concerning bias in the entertainment industry three years after its formation, as the #metoo and #timesup movements raised awareness and in Hollywood. While the trends it has uncovered aren’t that surprising to anyone familiar with the industry, the breadth and depth of the problem as revealed by the survey data is shocking.

Women experience anxiety when shopping for these types of clothes [Video]

Half of American women experience anxiety when shopping for new clothes, according to new research.

The survey asked 2,000 American women about their confidence and just how often shopping can take a hit on their confidence.

Four in 10 women shared that they hate shopping for new clothes and with some of the most common experiences they have, it’s no surprise.

Thirteen percent of women polled said they’ve had such a difficult time during a shopping trip, they’ve shed a tear in the changing room.

Conducted by OnePoll on behalf of True&Co, the survey also found that a further two in 10 women surveyed even shared they’ve felt judged by a salesperson.

The survey found that the most stressful clothing items to shop for in-person included bras, jeans and swimsuits.

Over the last week and a half, the whisky industry has collectively issued a condemnation of sexist language used in one of the bestselling whisky books, leading to questions of what the next steps should be to promote equality and diversity within the whisky world.

Though significant progress has been made in the last few years (just recently, the Scotch Whisky Association released a Diversity and Inclusivity Charter), there remain significant hurdles.
