Google Shopping Extends Free Product Listings for Retailers to More Countries

Google will extend the availability of free product listings for retailers on its Google Shopping tab to more countries around the world by mid-October.

As a response to the coronavirus pandemic, Google president of commerce Bill Ready said in April that search results in the Google Shopping tab would predominantly consist of free product listings, helping merchants connect with consumers whether or not they are Google advertisers.

The initiative was extended to Google Search in June, with free listings appearing in the knowledge panel for products, while sponsored shopping links were moved to a separate area at the top of the page.

Google said retailers running free listings and ads on its Shopping tab in the U.S. saw average increases of more than 50% in clicks and over 100% in impressions, with the greatest benefits going to small and midsized businesses.

ArtsQuest Extends Musikfest Matching Gift Campaign

More than 2.2 million people took in Musikfest 2020, the 10-day music and arts festival that featured nearly 100 streaming and live-via-television performances, as well as a food court featuring 10 of the festival’s most popular food vendors and six small-capacity, socially-distanced live concerts on the SteelStacks entertainment campus.

As part Musikfest 2020, festival patrons and donors came together to support ArtsQuest via the ‘One Million Festers’ matching gift campaign, helping raise $656,000 in gifts and pledges July 27-Aug. 11.
