Actress Jane Fonda: Coronavirus is ‘God’s gift to the left’

Jane Fonda’s remark came during an online event as she highlighted the importance of voting and how it can decide what happens to humanity.

WASHINGTON — Actress and activist Jane Fonda said during an online event last week that the coronavirus was “God’s gift to the left.” She made the remark while expressing how the virus has opened people’s eyes to what she said was President Donald Trump’s true character.

Fonda’s remarks came during a conversation she had with Maurice Mitchell, the national director of the Working Families Party, a political party that describes it’s as fighting “for workers over bosses and people over the powerful.”

During her very last question of the interview, Mitchell asked Fonda for her opinion on the “concept of maybe a political realignment, a social realignment, and the ending dying of this patriarchal system and possibly the beginning of something regenerative.”

Jane Fonda Calls COVID-19 ‘God’s Gift to the Left’

Jane Fonda just called Coronavirus “God’s gift to the left” and she’s explaining why.

“I just think COVID is God’s gift to the left,” Jane said (via The Hill), before letting out a laugh. “That’s a terrible thing to say. I think it was a very difficult thing to send down to us, but it has ripped the Band-Aid off who he [Donald Trump] is and what he stands for and what is being done to average people and working people in this country.”

“We can see it now, people who couldn’t see it before, you know, they see it now and we have a chance to harness that anger and make a difference,” she said.

We have to use [this moment] with every ounce of intelligence and courage and wherewithal we have. … I just think that COVID is God’s gift to the Left,” Ms. Fonda said. “That’s a terrible thing to say. Jane Fonda: I quit shopping to save the planet

Jane Fonda has quit shopping in order to save the planet.

The 82-year-old actress has admitted she’s still using clothes that were in her wardrobe “30 years ago”, because she doesn’t want to “waste” perfectly good items by throwing them out as she’s worried it could have a negative impact on the environment.

She said: “We have to not waste so much. We have to be satisfied with less. I’m trying to not buy anything new anymore, no new clothing. But I also understand that I can say that because I still wear what I wore 30 years ago, and I have a lot of clothes, so it’s easy for me.”

Jane urged other to “pay attention” to what they buy, but admitted it has been easier for her to let go of some of her luxuries because of her privileged background as the daughter of the late movie icon
