LeBron James wins fourth NBA title in a blowout

The Los Angeles Lakers outscored the Miami Heat by 20 points in the second stanza to take a 28-point halftime lead en route to a 106-93 win that secured the franchise’s record-tying 17th NBA championship.

In his record-setting 260th playoff game, LeBron James became the first player to lead three different teams to a title, logging 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in 41 minutes on his way to a fourth ring. He was also named Finals MVP for the fourth time unanimously. Only Michael Jordan has more with six.

Seattle Storm sweep Las Vegas Aces in dominant fashion, win record-tying fourth WNBA championship

The Seattle Storm are WNBA champions again. Already up 2-0 in the 2020 WNBA Finals, they took care of business in impressive fashion on Tuesday night, beating the Las Vegas Aces, 92-59 in Game 3 to complete a three-game sweep. This is Seattle’s second title in the last three seasons and the fourth in franchise history.

With the win, the Storm tied the now-defunct Houston Comets and the Minnesota Lynx for the most titles in league history with four. In addition, the Storm matched the Comets with a perfect record in those appearances, going 4-0.
