We tried Drew Barrymore’s Flower Beauty hair tools on textured hair

Our team is dedicated to finding and telling you more about the products and deals we love. If you love them too and decide to purchase through the links below, we may receive a commission. Pricing and availability are subject to change.

As a Black woman with type 4 hair, I don’t necessarily trust hair tools from brands that claim they’re “for all hair types.” With that said, one of Drew Barrymore’s new Flower Beauty hair tools kind of made me eat my words.

Hopefully, you’re no stranger to Barrymore’s Flower Beauty makeup brand. Now, the actor and talk show host is expanding the line with six new Flower Beauty hair tools. The line includes an Ionic Pro Dryer, a travel Ionic Pro Dryer, a Ceramic Straightening Brush, a Ceramic Styling Iron, a Titanium Rotating Styling Iron and — the device I tried — the Ionic Volumizing Styler.

5 Ways Issa Rae Keeps Her Skin And Hair Looking So Good

Issa Rae is a writer, producer, and star of the hit HBO series Insecure, a Covergirl, and recent co-owner of a natural line of hair products called Sienna Naturals. And she’s only 35…Yes, you could say that the multifaceted actress can pretty much do it all. Though, one thing that didn’t come as natural to her was a skincare routine. When asked by Popsugar in 2017 if her mom gave her beauty advice, Issa responded saying, “She tried, bless her heart. I was such a tomboy and did not want to hear it from her.”

And, while she has picked up some hair, skincare, and makeup skills since then, she’s never wanted to let her outward appearance be what defined her. When asked by InStyle how it felt to be the face of Covergirl, she said, “It’s funny—I don’t think of myself like that in terms of beauty standards.

As an award-winning actress and producer, Laverne Cox has known a thing or two about breaking down boundaries since becoming the first trans person to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2014. Since then, she has taken on dozens of roles that have made her a beloved household name.

While speaking with Cox about her partnership with Gold Bond for its #ChampionYourSkin campaign, she shared what she’s doing to keep things manageable right now and how she’s staying inspired.

On Feeling Comfortable in Her Own Skin For the First Time

Although it may seem like Cox’s confidence hasn’t wavered since day one — we have her role as Sophia Burset on Orange Is the New Black to thank for that — she shared that being her authentic self has come with its own challenges. “I believe it’s all a process,” she told POPSUGAR. “I’ve had moments throughout my

Clean Hair Care Brand Innersense Organic Beauty Announces Packaging Refresh With Transition To Bottles Made Of 100% PCR

“Our refreshed packaging begins our transition into more circular packaging options such as refillables and other sustainable alternatives. Hair care poses unique packaging challenges as opposed to skincare or makeup,” shares Greg Starkman, Innersense Organic Beauty founder. “Hair care packaging is larger in size, heavier in weight, and typically sits in our showers, so the bottles have to be functional and safe in a wet environment. PCR plastic is the most natural next step for our packaging. By purchasing PCR, we are doing our part to spur demand for recycled materials, which we hope will have ripple effects toward improving the domestic recycling market.”

The packaging update contributes to the brand’s Mission in Action, a plan introduced three years ago with the goal to become “plastic proactive.” This year, Innersense Organic Beauty made the commitment to cleaning up the equivalent of the last 5 years of their plastic output

Actor Niti Taylor recently announced her wedding and surprised her fans who were under the impression that she had done some bridal photoshoot when she initially posted the pictures of herself decked in the gorgeous lehenga. For her lockdown wedding with Parikshit Bawa that happened in August this year, Niti chose to wear a stunning pastel lehenga designed by Payal Keyal. The actor broke the monotony of pink in her look by adding a golden dupatta. Niti opted for kundan jewellery by designer label Purab Paschim. While the mathapatti had two layers, Niti seemed to have got special customisation of those lavender stones in her jewellery to match the colour of the lehenga. The actor went for smokey eye makeup and kept her eyebrows bushy and big. She further applied a dark brown shade on her lips and

4 Gorgeous Ways to Style Your Baby Hair

While hosting the 62nd-annual Grammy Awards ceremony earlier this year, an almost barefaced Alicia Keys accessorized in a way that screamed Black Girl Magic. The singer-songwriter graced the stage with her hair cornrowed back into a low bun, complete with jewel-encrusted baby hairs.

The act of strategically styling the finely textured strands along the hairline, or laying baby hairs, as it’s called within the Black and Latinx communities, has a profound history that dates back to at least the Roaring Twenties. It first emerged as a means of acceptance: Black women wanted to give off the appearance of “groomed” hair in order to fit European beauty standards. Notable entertainers of the time, like Josephine Baker and Esther Jones (credited as the inspiration for Betty Boop), were known for wearing their hair short and in uniform finger waves, with dramatic swirls framing the face.

Millennial brothers’ hair and beauty store surges through COVID-19

“COVID-19 has really shifted the way consumers shop and view online shopping. Now they’ve got a taste for it, our goal was to really impress new customers and cement them as online shoppers,” he said.

“We’ve hit $3 million [in monthly sales] a year or two ahead of schedule. So it’s accelerated our growth in the space.”

Prior to starting Oz Hair & Beauty, Mr Nappa worked casually as a labourer and restaurant waiter to support himself while in university, but in 2012 when his labourer boss went on holidays, he realised he could not make enough income to support himself from just his restaurant job.

This sparked his decision to leverage his parents’ connections running hair salons and start an eBay store selling hair and beauty products.

For a few years Mr Nappa ran this business out of his father’s warehouse, taking over the entire space by its third
