The introspective nature of the material may also have something to do with how it was recorded. Bruni began writing at the tail end of 2019, just as the coronavirus pandemic spread across Europe. Recorded shortly after Paris’s COVID-19 lockdown, the record had to be completed in a third of the time she usually has for a project. “I kept writing throughout confinement, and when we came out, I had 16 or 17 songs,” says Bruni. “We went right into the studio, but we had to adapt like everyone else.” As physical performances are a non-starter for the foreseeable future, Bruni is taking her music online with a series of virtual concerts slated for later this year. “Sometimes we can still do small live performances for television or radio sometimes while being very prudent, but as much as we can, we’re trying to go virtual,” she says. It’s the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment and Mattel released a new Barbie to celebrate it.
The toy company unveiled a new Susan B. Anthony Barbie doll last week as a part of its line of inspiring women.
The National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House in Rochester, New York, officially unveiled the doll on October 1. It appeared on Mattel’s website on Monday.

Mattel (MAT) is paying tribute to heroines of the world with a line of Inspiring Women Barbies that will now feature Susan B. Anthony.
Anthony, who was a trailblazer for women, was arrested in 1872 at her Rochester, New York, home after she voted in the presidential election, which sparked the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920, giving women the right to vote. She was pardoned by President Trump in August.
Mattel said the new Barbie collection “pays tribute to incredible heroines of their time.” The company continued by saying these “courageous women took risks, changed rules, and paved the way for generations of girls to dream bigger than ever before.”
The Anthony Barbie features a doll in a floor-length black dress that is accented with lace on the long sleeves and bodice. She has a cameo brooch that fastens her lace collar and is packaged in a specially-designed
