Family in Jacksonville can’t travel to England, but video captures the day

Family and friends from Northeast Florida and beyond couldn’t come to Mark and Nicola Pollitt’s pandemic lockdown wedding in England, so they passed around a cellphone and had the few people there video it to post on Facebook.
The whole day was a rousing success, even though one of the filmers inadvertently turned the camera backward and filmed themself instead of the wedding for a good 10 minutes.
“This mobile phone was like a hot potato,” Nicola said. “No one wanted to touch it.”
Still, even the weather cooperated — which was hardly a sure thing in notoriously rainy York, the ancient city where the Pollitts were married near the little village where they live.
It was a “magical day,” Nicola said, but one tinged with sadness that family couldn’t be there.
