Kimberly Guilfoyle, still the perfect face of ‘Women for Trump’

In 2016 — before Donald Trump was president, before Donald Trump Jr. was her boyfriend, before she became the glamorously unhinged face of the Republican party’s outreach attempts to female voters — Kimberly Guilfoyle made a bet.

She bet on Roger Ailes.

While Gretchen Carlson, Guilfoyle’s Fox News colleague, was suing Ailes for sexual harassment, Guilfoyle was doing everything she could to cast doubts on Carlson’s credibility. She gave PR-flavored interviews to Adweek and Breitbart. She criticized Carlson and vouched for Ailes as “a champion of women.” According to a complaint filed by Julie Roginsky, a former Fox contributor, Guilfoyle tried to recruit other employees to support Ailes as well — a moment dramatized in the 2019 film “Bombshell,” complete with Guilfoyle (portrayed by actress Bree Condon) handing out “Team Roger” T-shirts.
