Sam Mewis goal video: US star scores Man City FA Cup semis winner

Manchester City Women’s American duo is starting to make an impact.

Sam Mewis scored what wound up being the game-winner, while Rose Lavelle played her first minutes for the club in a 2-1 triumph over Arsenal in the Women’s FA Cup semifinals on Thursday. Man City will play Everton, a 3-0 semifinal winner over Birmingham City, in the Nov. 1 final at Wembley Stadium. These matches mark the completion of the 2019-20 tournament, which had been suspended as a result of the pandemic. The 2020-2021 competition is currently in the qualifying-round stages.

For Man City to reach the final, Mewis broke a 1-1 deadlock at the 40-minute mark, pouncing on a loose ball in the Arsenal box to complete a sequence that she started.

Mewis’s finish followed a superb goal by Jordan Nobbs, which had brought Arsenal level after Steph Houghton’s opener on an excellent free kick.

3rd man indicted in alleged counterfeit clothing scheme

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted a North Dakota man accused of participating in a scheme to manufacture counterfeit clothing overseas that was then sold to the U.S. military and other buyers, federal prosecutors announced Thursday.

Terry Roe, 50, worked with two other men to have parkas and other items produced in China and Pakistan that carried fake labels identical to genuine U.S. trademarks, the U.S. attorney’s office in Rhode Island said.

Many of the fake garments claimed to be weather-resistant and have other qualities that they did not, prosecutors said. The scheme involved more than $20 million worth of counterfeit goods that were sold to military and government buyers.

Sixty counterfeit Polartec fleece shirts were shipped to a business in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, in August 2018 and counterfeit parkas and trousers were shipped to the Rhode Island National Guard in East Greenwich on

TAMPA, Florida — Shopping carts are one of the most touched items in a supermarket, often leaving its handles covered in bacteria. Now, a man is speaking with national supermarket chains after inventing a device to sanitize the carts.

“There’s been a lot of studies that have shown it’s almost one of the dirtiest things in a grocery store,” Adam Labadie told WFTS.
