Transitioning to hybrid model, North Olmsted City Schools forfeits playoff football game due to positive COVID-19 test

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — After a player tested positive for COVID-19, North Olmsted City Schools forfeited its playoff game against Avon scheduled for Friday night (Oct. 16).

Joining the player in a 14-day quarantine will be nine additional students and two staff members who were exposed.

“Everyone is doing fine, and we look forward to their return to school as soon as possible,” North Olmsted City Schools Superintendent Michael E. Zalar said. “We’re very disappointed to have to cancel our game.

“The kids worked hard and won their first playoff game last week. Nobody wants to see their season end this way.”

The Eagles team finished the abbreviated season like it started with having to withdraw from their season opener in August after a player tested positive.

“It’s unfortunate for our student athletes,” Zalar said. “Our players and coaches have done a great job of following our safety protocols, but

North West Wears a ‘Vote Kanye’ Hoodie & Yeezy Foam Runners for London Fashion Week

The rapper and his 7-year-old attended the British runway event this evening in their own unique looks. Kanye’s outfit included a blue oversize T-shirt with his signature shades and moto-style leather pants. North, on the other hand, went for a more relaxed look in pants from her mom Kim Kardashian’s Skims line and an oversize hoodie reading “Vote Kanye” — an allusion to her father’s 2020 bid for the White House.

When it came down to footwear, North continued to support her father in shoes from his Adidas Yeezy line. The Yeezy Foam Runner in the “Ararat” colorway launched with a $75 retail price tag during a surprise drop in June. Australian women’s league moves north to Queensland

BRISBANE, Australia (AP) — Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League is moving to northern Queensland state for a shortened season starting next month.

Queensland state managed to control COVID-19 outbreaks better than most in Australia. As a result, many of the country’s professional sports leagues moved teams and matches to the so-called Sunshine State over the past six months in order to complete their pandemic-interrupted seasons.

On Friday, the WNBL decided to do the same — to start and finish its season over a six-week period in three hubs from Nov. 12 to Dec. 20.

The Australian Football League and the National Rugby League also moved matches and relocated teams to Queensland, where the coronavirus was mostly contained because of a stringent policy of closing the state borders.

The WNBL said the northern Queensland cities of Cairns, Townsville and Mackay would host the 56-game regular season and four-game finals series.

Stefanik embraces Trump’s style in North Country race against Cobb

GANSEVOORT — At a North Country campaign rally for U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik and other local Republicans on Sept. 26, the line for voters to grab President Donald Trump signs was longer than the queues for all the other candidates’ merchandise combined.

When Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, was elected in 2014, she made headlines as the youngest woman at that time elected to Congress and branded herself as a political moderate, joining several moderate and bipartisan legislative groups. She won her 2014 race by more than 20 percentage points despite the district going blue in the six presidential races before then.

Then in 2016, the district went for Trump by 14 points; two years later, despite Democrats sweeping many elections across the country, Stefanik won again by just under 14 points. Since then, Stefanik has veered closer to the president, while continuing her often bipartisan work on issues like agriculture, veterans, and
