Police officer dismissed for holding wedding party amid pandemic – Wed, October 7 2020

The North Sumatra Police have dismissed Adj. Comr. Bobi Vaski Pranata from his position as Serdang Bedagai Police’s intelligence unit chief after he held a wedding reception despite the coronavirus pandemic and ignoring health protocols and physical distancing. 

 

Bobi’s dismissal came after a video of his wedding party, held on Sept. 26 in a building in Labuhan Batu regency, North Sumatra, made the rounds on social media. In the video that later went viral, the married couple and the guests were seen without masks and purportedly with no physical distancing. 

 

The North Sumatra Police have confirmed the authenticity of the video, which led to the first dismissal of a police officer in the region for a violation of health protocols. 

 

“The police officer who held the wedding reception has been sanctioned. He has been dismissed from his post as the intelligence unit chief,” North Sumatra Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Tatan

Suspicious woman sleeping at shopping cart tells officer she’s just enjoying the sun: Strongsville Police Blotter

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio

Suspicious sleeper, Pearl Road: On Sept. 19, a concerned passerby called police about a woman wearing a winter coat sleeping at her shopping cart, which was located in a retail store parking lot.

The caller said the woman would occasionally wake up but then fall asleep. She might have been waiting for a bus.

There was a chance she was intoxicated. An arriving officer located the woman, who said she was fine and that she just wanted to sit in the sun.

The officer said the woman, who had a bus card, wasn’t doing anything illegal. The officer did get the woman something to eat from a local restaurant.
