Sapakoff: Clemson football P.A.W. Journey should be model for all SC | Clemson

Our beloved college football pastime comes these days with urgent real life questions:

Why don’t players have lifetime insurance for brain trauma and other participation injuries?

Why is name, image and likeness compensation legislation taking so long?

Why didn’t players speak out more on social issues earlier?

But Clemson’s P.A.W. Journey — a pet program within one of America’s most prominent sports programs — offers one beautiful answer.

With paw print, fashion collection pays tribute to those affected by breast cancer

Lilly Pulitzer is introducing a new original print on a collection that will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The Paws for a Cause collection will be in Lilly Pulitzer stores and online Thursday and includes women’s pajamas, robe, leggings, top, scarf, skort, blanket and hat, as well as girls’ T-shirt and leggings. Prices range from $38 to $138.

Handprinted in the Lilly Pulitzer studio, the new print is a whirl of color with pink ribbons, flowers and cats. The collection is a tribute to breast cancer patients, advocates, caregivers, loved ones and thrivers. A few of the styles were designed with input from those who had either gone through cancer treatments or supported someone who did.

This year, Lilly Pulitzer will donate $30,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for the funding of 600 hours of research.

When the new collection launches online, check it out at lillypulitzer.com.
