The Best TikTok-Famous Beauty Products | The Strategist

Photo: Retailers

Though TikTok is perhaps best known for producing viral dances and making Donald Trump mad, the app has quietly morphed into a next-generation QVC, unearthing useful doodads and oddball gadgets you didn’t know you needed. A product that goes viral on TikTok can sell out for months at a time, and the hashtag #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt has racked up 645.1 million views (and probably as many dollars in sales).

No products sell faster on TikTok than beauty products, whether it’s a DIY eyebrow lamination kit, men’s shaving powder, or a shower jelly that costs exactly $1. And because the app is dominated by teens, many of these things are easy on the wallet (or the allowance, as it were). To find out what lives up to the hype, we spent hours exchanging hundreds of DMs with TikTok influencers, asking just one

Production of Killing Eve‘s fourth season may be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we have some thrilling news to tide us over in the meantime. AMC Networks and IMG just agreed on a multiyear licensing deal that will result in a range of consumer products inspired by the hit series, including categories like apparel, accessories, games, travel, and beauty. That’s right, folks: a Killing Eve makeup collection could be in the works this very second, ready to debut upon the show’s eventual return.

While speaking about the deal, Sherikay Chaffee, IMG’s vice president of licensing, said, “Aside from being one of the most popular and loved shows on TV, it’s also one of the most clever and stylish. The dual aspect and opposing nature between its two lead characters can be used to tell a story about a product. For example, the unconventional and the conventional, the

Google Shopping now lets you browse products in a Maps-like interface

Google is rolling out a new way to browse and shop for products based on location — sort of like a fusion between Maps and the Shopping tab.

The new location-based shopping option practically integrates Maps straight into the Shopping tab. It works similarly to the way you can locate stores by typing, for instance, “McDonalds nearby.” The only difference is now you’ll see tagged locations for products, not just stores.

To use the new feature, simply search for the product you’d like, navigate to the Shopping tab, and click the “nearby” filter underneath. Alternatively, you can just add the words “near me” or “nearby” after the product you’re searching for, and that will automatically pull up a map with the closest stores where you can get it.

I’m a Beauty Editor, and These Are the Products I Would Never Splurge On

Few things in life fill me with more joy than opening up the lid of a seriously luxurious beauty product. It’s shallow, I know, but there’s something about the feeling I get when I know I’m treating myself to something great. I guess that famous advertising tag line sums it up so well: It’s because I’m worth it, right? That’s essentially how consuming luxury beauty products makes me feel, whether that’s treating myself to a nourishing hair mask or taking the time to really massage in my nightly moisturiser.

Having said that though, there are certain products I prefer to buy on a budget. While some high-end alternatives to my budget beauty favourites are wonderful, when it comes to spending my hard-earned cash, the budget buys win. After many years of testing and trialling new beauty launches, I have come to discover that certain products just aren’t worth a great … Read More
