Ford delays Escape PHEV to 2021 model year after EU recalls

See you… soon, I guess? Maybe? Ford wasn’t exactly clear.

Delays are never fun, but sometimes, they are in the best interest of every party. After having to recall some of its plug-in hybrid vehicles in Europe, it appears a hotly anticipated US model will show up to the party a little later than Ford had hoped.

Ford is shifting production of the Escape Plug-In Hybrid until the 2021 model year, according to the automaker. “We are moving full scale production of Escape PHEV to the 2021 model year,” a Ford spokesperson said in an emailed statement to Roadshow. “The first Escape PHEVs will be sold next year.”

Perez Hilton Recalls His Friendship With Amy Winehouse in Book Excerpt

The following chapter appears in the book “TMI: My Life in Scandal” By Perez Hilton, with Leif Eriksson and Martin Svensson; published by Chicago Review Press on Oct 6. Reprinted with permission.

I met Amy Winehouse for the first time in London at a fashion magazine party in late 2006. At that point in time, I was in London pretty often, because I had become — in the most unlikely of ways — good friends with the owner of a hotel there.

That in itself wasn’t so strange, but her boyfriend also started getting in touch to share his appreciation. At first I thought he was being ironic, but I quickly realized that he genuinely liked the things I wrote, and so we kept in touch. He told me he owned a boutique
