Sifan Hassan sets new European women’s 10,000m record beating Paula Radcliffe time

Sifan Hassan
Hassan won double gold at the World Championships in Doha last year

Sifan Hassan has set a new European record for the women’s 10,000m, beating Paula Radcliffe’s 2002 mark by more than 24 seconds in the Netherlands.

The Dutchwoman, 27, who won 1500m and 10,000m gold at the World Championships in Doha last year, clocked 29 minutes 36.67 seconds in rainy conditions.

Briton Radcliffe timed 30:01.09 at the 2002 European Championships in Munich.

Only seven other women have been below the 30-minute mark, and Hassan becomes the first European to do so.

Despite the pacing assistance of the new Wavelight technologyexternal-link built into the track in Hengelo, conditions proved too difficult for the Ethiopian-born athlete to challenge the world record.

That remains with Ethiopia’s Almaz Ayana, who clocked 29:17.45 when winning gold at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

“I am so happy to have run a new European record,

French Open women’s final: Iga Swiatek upsets Sofia Kenin in straight sets

Swiatek, who had never won even a lower-level title on the WTA tour, did so in characteristic fashion, which is to say, she was so calm it was hard to tell she was competing in a Grand Slam final at all.

The teenager didn’t lose more than five games in a single set throughout her seven matches at the French Open, making her the first woman since Justin Henin in 2007 to capture the title without dropping a set. She was the lowest-ranked woman to ever reach a final at Roland Garros.

She is also the tournament’s youngest champion, male or female, since her idol Rafael Nadal won his first French Open crown in 2005.

Swiatek relied on her powerful groundstrokes and preternatural composure throughout the two weeks — both helped her conquer the 2018 champion Simona Halep in the fourth round — and she relied on both again Saturday.

Cleanlogic Beauty Brand Sets Its Sights On D2C

If ever there was a time to have a major in supply chain management, this would be it. With the global supply chain showing strain as well as surprising flexibility, Cleanlogic CEO Isaac Shapiro has one such degree – and is he ever working it.

Cleanlogic is a skincare and beauty brand that is sold everywhere from CVS to Walgreens. Its product range spans exfoliants to hairbrushes to organic skincare products. It’s also behind some of the biggest private-label skincare products at the world’s largest retailers.

And while that might be enough for most companies, Shapiro isn’t about to rest on his laurels. His company is the beneficiary of his expertise as it looks to rebrand and reposition in anticipation of working a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model into its healthy retail business, which has led to a 25 percent overall increase so far over

Tesla Sets Record in Q3 Delivery Count, Trims Model 3 Price

Tesla TSLA recently reported stellar third-quarter 2020 vehicle production and delivery figures.

The company registered deliveries of 139,300 vehicles in the September-end quarter, smashing its previous record for deliveries of 112,000 cars. The reported figure included 124,100 deliveries of Model 3/Y and 15,200 of Model S/X.

The third-quarter deliveries compare favorably with the 90,650 vehicles sent out in the June-end quarter. It also surpasses the 97,000 deliveries made in the corresponding quarter last year, marking a 43.6% year-over-year increase.

The company anticipates to deliver roughly 500,000 vehicles in 2020, suggesting a 36% year-over-year rise.

Tesla’s delivery count only reflects those vehicles which are transferred to the customer with all documentation completed successfully, thus being slightly conservative. Final figures are subject to an error of roughly 0.5%.

The company stated that it produced a total of 145,036 vehicles during the third quarter, entailing the production of 128,044 units of Model 3/Y

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (September 25, 2020) – The Southeastern Conference has established Dec. 29 and 30 as the new start dates for its 2020-21 men’s basketball conference schedule while the women’s basketball start date will remain Dec. 31, 2020 as previously scheduled, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey announced Friday.

Ten SEC schools will fill one of those open dates with the SEC/Big 12 Challenge in late January. The four teams not participating in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge will play league games that day.

The 2020-21 SEC women’s basketball conference schedule remains at 18 play dates that will fit a 16-game league schedule.
