Reagan Simmons Hancock was ecstatic about having a new baby, a daughter named Braxlynn who was due next month. “I’m so ready for Brax to be here,” the 21-year-old Texas mom recently told a friend. “I’m scared she’s fixing to come faster. I feel like she’s going to be here before November.”

That friend, Abby Mathis, remembers telling Reagan, “Let’s pray she stays in there as long as she can so she’s extremely healthy.”

But Reagan’s and her unborn baby’s lives would be cut short days later, on Oct. 9—when another so-called friend, Taylor Rene Parker, allegedly killed her, snatched her unborn child from her belly, and fled before a state trooper pulled her over.

According to police, Parker told the Texas trooper she had just had a baby on the side of the road and the newborn wasn’t

Shalaymiah Moore, Model And Mother, Is Shot Dead In Driveway

An Ohio mother, nurse’s assistant and fashion model who had “finally reached her happy place,” was fatally shot last week in her friend’s driveway.

Shalaymiah Moore, 34, was “at the peak of her life,” her mother, Rochelle Moore, told local station News 5 Cleveland. She’d strutted the runway at New York and Detroit’s Fashion Weeks, and she was booked for a fashion shoot in London this February, Cleveland 19 News reports.

Around 3:20 a.m. last Friday, Moore was in a car with a friend in that friend’s driveway when the pair noticed two men approaching them, according to a police report obtained by local station Fox 8 News. The men drew guns, and Moore and her friend tried to run. They made it over a fence and into a neighbor’s yard – but not before Moore had been shot in the back, according to the station.

We women of the Texas House want a fair shot at leadership positions in the next Legislature

This election cycle more women are running for the Texas House than ever before and if, as predicted, many of them win, there will be more women holding office in the Texas House than at any time in history. The majority of those women will be Democrats.

The Texas Legislature has never been a model of gender inclusion. There have only, ever, been 172 women elected to the Texas Legislature in history compared to more than 5,435 men. There has never been a woman speaker of the house.

No matter who becomes the next speaker, regardless of gender or party, it is long past time that women legislators fully partake in the power of that office by receiving a proportional number of leadership positions, chairs of committees and key committee appointments. With very few exceptions, leadership positions in the Texas House are not reflective of the makeup of women in

Donald Trump takes shot at Nancy Pelosi’s looks amid coronavirus criticism

In the midst of an hours-long Twitter tear on the “Russia Hoax,” the stimulus bill and charges of election fraud, President Trump took time out to take a shot at Nancy Pelosi’s attractiveness.

The House speaker had called Mr. Trump’s behavior a “brazen invitation” to the virus as the president was being hospitalized, prompting Mr. Trump to respond and raise the ante.

“Wear your mask in the ‘beauty’ parlor, Nancy!” Mr. Trump wrote.

The president was alluding to Mrs. Pelosi having been videotaped at a San Francisco salon that was supposed to have been closed under city law and not in a mask, to boot.

In referring to the ESalon facility, Mr. Trump used sarcastic quote marks around the word “beauty.”

Relations between Mr. Trump and Mrs. Pelosi have been frozen for
