Model-approved hack prevents makeup from getting on your tops

If you’ve ever gotten makeup on your shirt while trying to put it on, In The Know has got the perfect hack for you.

Video producer Lisa Azcona tested out this model-approved hack on three different white shirts to demonstrate how effective is.

“It’s actually a backstage runway secret I learned in college when I worked behind the scenes in New York Fashion Week,” Azcona explains. “Runway models get their makeup done before getting dressed which is why models use a scarf or a piece of fabric when dressing the models into the designer outfits.”

First, Azcona does a full face of makeup. Then, she drapes a scarf over her head and face (like if you were pretending to be a ghost). Next, she pulls a blouse over her head while keeping the scarf in place. Azcona does the method with each of the three white tops, including one turtle

Palo Alto office shopping spree tops $850 million

PALO ALTO — A big Southern California real estate and investment firm has gobbled up its latest in a string of Palo Alto office property purchases, a deal that extends a buying spree in the Silicon Valley tech hub that now tops $850 million.

Alexandria Real Estate, acting through an affiliate, has bought two Palo Alto office buildings on Hillview Avenue near Arastradero Road, acquiring a site that’s in the famed Stanford Research Park.

The deal suggests investors still seek to collect commercial properties in choice and prestigious locations despite the economic uncertainties that the coronavirus has triggered.

The just-purchased buildings have a combined 77,000 square feet, according to Santa Clara County property documents and commercial real estate listing services. SAP, a tech giant, is the tenant in the two buildings.

Pasadena-based Alexandria Real Estate paid $40.5 million for the buildings, county documents filed Oct. 8 show. Alexandria bought only

Egyptian journalist tops ‘10 Most Urgent’ list of press freedom cases focused on women journalists

▪ The survey found female journalists are at risk even in countries not traditionally viewed as hostile to the press.

According to a report by Trollbusters and IWMF in 2018:

▪ More than 70 percent of women have experienced more than one type of harassment, threat or attack in the past.

▪ Nearly one-third of female journalists consider leaving the profession due to online attacks and threats.

Since 1992, 97 female journalists have been killed in connection to their work, according to CPJ, and 20 women were behind bars in 2019.

Online harassment of female journalists is not unique to one country, and should be taken seriously by newsrooms around the world. CPJ has documented threats and harassment in many countries including Pakistan, South Africa, India, Brazil and the Netherlands concerning journalists covering beats from sports to politics.

The One Free Press Coalition, a united group of pre-eminent editors and
