Apple offers free AirPods as Diwali gift with iPhone 11 in India : The Tribune India

New Delhi, October 10

Apple Store Online in India has announced a Diwali offer where people buying an iPhone 11 will get an AirPods absolutely free in the country.

The popular AirPods (2nd generation) are powered by the all-new Apple H1 headphone chip and use optical sensors and motion accelerometers to detect when they’re in ear.

The Apple offer starts from October 17 when the country will enter a festive sale season.

The iPhone 11 currently starts from Rs 5,802 a month or Rs 49,300 with trade-in while AirPods begins from Rs 14,900.

Indian-origin couple pulls off unusual COVID-secure drive-in wedding : The Tribune India

London, October 7

An Indian-origin couple, keen not to delay their wedding plans despite a strict restriction on the number of guests allowed to assemble under England’s coronavirus lockdown rules, are celebrating this week after pulling off a first-of-its-kind drive-in wedding near London.

Londoners Roma Popat and Vinal Patel were originally due to get married on April 20 but when lockdown disrupted their plans, they discussed the concept of a drive-in wedding with their wedding coordinator, Saheli Events, almost as a tongue-in-cheek thought rather than a serious plan.

However, what began as a joke became a reality last Friday, when the couple were married in front of a small gathering of their immediate family with the ceremony being projected onto a big screen in a field next door to friends and family seated in more than 100 cars at Braxted Park in Chelmsford.

Woman hopes to bring more clothing variety to Albert Lea with new boutique – Albert Lea Tribune

A Garner, Iowa, woman is hoping to bring more variety of women’s and children’s clothing to Albert Lea with the opening of a new boutique in the strip mall near Walmart.

The Funky Zebras was slated to open at the end of September and will be at 2355 Leland Drive, said owner Katie Schleusner.

Schleusner said she started out as a brand ambassador for The Funky Zebras location in Clear Lake but did not think about owning her own store until the owner of that boutique suggested the idea to her.

“I said, ‘There’s no way I can do that,’” she said.

Schleusner, who is a wife and mother of three school-aged children, is also attending Allen College in Waterloo, Iowa, to become a nurse practitioner.

After some further encouragement from The Funky Zebras founder, in June she decided to give it a try.
